The reps from the clubs will be meeting in April after golf starts as our president, Greg Cown, will not be back from the south until then, .If you have any suggestions concerning play or procedures that you would like the reps to consider contact your local rep and have them bring it up at the meeting. We are always looking for ways to improve the organization.
At our fall meeting the Board agreed to extend the option of players selecting which tees they want to play from for the year regardless of their GHIN index. When applying at the beginning of the year indicate which tees you will be using and your handicap for the course played will be adjusted for that tee. If your index is greater than 25 you should consider playing from the forward tees, It will make the game much more fun.
"Forward Tee" mean the next forward tee from the normal tees played. If the normal tee is White then the next forward tee is usually Red. Many courses have different color schemes but always use the tee box just in front of the usual tee box. Some courses have a Gold tee box way forward. This is not considered the "Forward Tee".
When possible the score card will indicate the color of the forward tee.
Pace of play is always a concern. In the application packet there are some suggestions on how to speed up play, 18 hole rounds should not take over 5 hours.
Due to rising cost of golf balls and the lower number of members in 2019 the board raised the 2020 dues to $50. This is the first increase in dues in many years.
